There has been a massive amount of media coverage on the progression of Facebook in the past few years. Social media is becoming the number one way to stay in contact with family and friends. Facebook is the most popular but now there could be a new social media site which may cause Facebook to step up it's game. Google+ has now become open to public. This site used to be only open to people who had an invite but now it's become open to anyone who wants to join. Here are some reasons why you should change from Facebook to Google+.

Having your social network site interlinked with your email,search engine, google documents and images is a reason to stay logged into your social network for longer. Having all of these features at your finger tips will make it much easier to search the web whilst keeping up to date with your google+ account.

You can put your friends into categories. Everyone has different types of friends from ones who you interact more with or people who you work with. Although Facebook does have this option it has been added on. Google+ has always had this feature and has had a while to tweak it. Which may make it more user friendly.

The mobile phone app for Google+ is very easy to use and doesn't seem to crash like the Facebook app does. The only downside is you cannot get a Google+ app for your iPad yet but never fear they are working on it.

Facebook make it very hard to delete your account and even when you delete it you can still log back in and have your account up and running again in a matter of seconds. However Google+ offers you the ability to delete you account totally. 

Facebook makes it easy for you to tag anyone in any photograph, Google+ has a tagging system in the same way but when you are tagged you receive a notification to say you have been tagged you can then view the picture to confirm it before people can see the tag. Facebook however does not let you approve tags and you have to remove them yourself.

When uploading information or a picture to Google+ it gives you the option of who you would like to share the information with. On facebook it does not ask you before you upload anything which can be annoying as you may not want everyone to see and may only be for close family and friends.

Facebook stores all of your information and is a new company which has been shown to have had some slip ups. Google+ however has lived up to it's slogan of "Don't be Evil" which means they are there to protect your information.

The reasons above are exactly why I will be deactivating my Facebook profile and moving to Google+, only time will tell if the company can make people jump ship.
